Roskó Gábor: Festett acél
Együtt lakom velük, lassan ők győznek, kiszorítanak a térből. Ahogyan rokonait sem választja az ember, ezek a kerékpárok sem kiválasztottak, inkább jönnek egymás után. Úgy gondolom, a kerékpár olyan tárgy, ami jogosan lehet emblémája egy új gondolkodásnak, ami már létezik, de nem integrálódott napi életünkbe. Még mindig hierarchiában élünk, és gondolkodunk, miközben ezt a világképet a természettudományok már meghaladták. A kerékpár nagyszerűen testesíti meg ezt az új elképzelést, a szabadon gondolkodó és mozgó lények teljes egyenlőségét és felelősségteljes gondolkodását. A kerékpárban sem csak a gyűjtemény a fontos, hanem, amit megtestesít. Ezért a tárgy a legszabadabban és kreatívabban kezelendő. Ennek szellemében művésztársaim – Forján Dávid, Füredi Tamás, Hecker Péter, Koronczi Endre, Vinkler Zsuzsi, Drabik István, Simon Tibor, Braun András – és én kerékpár vázakat festettünk és alakítottunk át, a Festett acél kiállításunkon ezeket tekinthetik meg a látogatók. Ezenkívül látható lesz Minyó Szert Károly és Böröcz András néhány a témához kapcsolódó képe valamint Adamik Lajos szíves jóvoltából egy Thomas Bernhard szellemét megidéző kerékpár.
Gábor Roskó: Painted Steel
I’m living with them – slowly, they are winning, they are pushing me out of space. Just as one is unable to pick his own relatives, these bicycles are not chosen, either – instead, they came, one after the other. In my view a bicycle is an object that can be rightfully considered the emblem of a new way of thinking, which already exists, but has not been integrated yet into our everyday lives. We are still living and thinking in terms of hierarchy, even though this world view had been surpassed by natural sciences long ago. The bicycle is an excellent embodiment of this new idea, the complete equality and responsible thought of beings thinking and moving freely. It’s not merely the collection that is interesting about a bicycle, but also the ideas it embodies. As a result, the object is to be treated in the most free and creative way possible. In the spirit of this my fellow artists – Dávid Forján, Tamás Füredi, Péter Hecker, Endre Koronczi, Zsuzsi Vinkler, István Drabik, Tibor Simon, András Braun – and myself have painted and transformed bicycle frames. Visitors can take a look at these at our exhibition Painted Steel. In addition, a few related pictures by Károly Minyó Szert and András Böröcz will bedisplayed,along with a bicycle evoking the spirit of Thomas Bernhard, courtesy of Lajos Adamik.
