A KINCS / THE TREASURE

A kincs – kórusmű Martin Buber történetére

A darab hossza kb. 30 perc.

A Magamnál Jobban Kórus 2014-ben alakult, társadalmi ügyekre fogékony amatőr formáció. Performanszokban és több színházi projektben is szerepelt, többek között a TÁP és a Katona József Színházban.

A kórus karnagya 2017 végétől Juhász Bence, a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem mesterszakos hallgatója. Korábbi tanulmányait Amszterdamban és New Yorkban végezte. Az est dramaturgja Nádudvari Nóra.

A belépés ingyenes. Adományokat elfogadunk, amit a kórus 2019-es prágai fellépésére fordítunk.

The Treasure — choir piece based on a Martin Buber story

Rabbi Eisik, after many years of great poverty, dreams he is to travel to Prague to look for a treasure. This he does, only to be told that the treasure lies beneath his own stove at home.

The Hassidic story presented in recitativo, inspired by contemporary music and choir improvisational games played during rehearsal, is interwoven by Jewish songs originating from a diverse Jewish cultural heritage. These 9 Transylvanian, Yiddish, Hebrew and Ladino songs are complemented by a contemporary choir piece. The performance is about 30 minutes long.

The choir Better Than Myself (Magamnál Jobban) was formed by a group of socially committed amateur singers in 2014. They have performed at many cultural events and were part of theatrical performances, too. Their most notable participations were at TÁP Theatre and the Katona József Theatre.

The maestro of the choir, Bence Juhász is doing his master’s degree in conducting at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. He also studied in Amsterdam and New York. The dramaturge of the event is Nóra Nádudvari.

Free admission. Donations are welcome. The revenues will be spent on the choir’s planned performance in Prague in 2019.
