Aleksandar Zograf szerb grafikus, képregényrajzoló gazdag és szerteágazó munkásságából két anyagot választottunk ki kiállításunkra, melyeket ez alkalomból nem füzetben, hanem a falakon, poszterek formájában mutatunk be. Az egyik Radnóti Miklós életének végső, a bori munkatábortól a meggyilkolásáig tartó szakaszáról szól (Magyarországon korábban a Csillagszálló folyóiratban jelent meg). A másik munka egy belgrádi zsidó lány, Hilda Dajč története, aki a német megszállás alatt önkéntes nővérként dolgozott a gettóban. A szerb zsidók nagy részével együtt a nácik őt is meggyilkolták. Ezt a képregényt néhány éve a szerb oktatási minisztérium és az izraeli nagykövetség adta ki, és ingyenes oktatási anyagként a szerbiai iskolák rendelkezésére bocsátotta.
A megnyitón levetítjük a Kaktus Kid utolsó kalandja című animációs dokumentumfilmet is. A filmben életre kel a II. világháborúban kivégzett Veljo Kockar képregényrajzoló Kaktus Kidje és beköltözik Zograf életébe.

Aleksandar Zograf (eredeti neve Saša Rakezić) szerb képregényrajzoló, leghíresebb művei a Life Under Sanctions, a Psychonaut, a Dream Watcher és a Bulletins. Zograf a 90-es évek eleje óta aktív a nemzetközi színtéren, amikor is olyan amerikai képregény-antológiákba válogatták be a munkáit, mint a Weirdo és a Zero Zero, illetve a Seattle’s Fantagraphics Books is publikálta néhány képregényét. Zograf műveit számos európai folyóiratban is – többek között a francia L’Association, az olasz PuntoZero, a német Jochen Enterprises, a spanyol Under Comics – közölték.

We have selected two materials for our exhibition from the rich and diverse work of Serbian graphic artist and comic artist Aleksandar Zograf, which on this occasion are presented not in booklets, but on the walls, in the form of posters. One is about the final phase of Miklós Radnóti’s life, from the labor camp in Bor to his murder (previously published in Hungary in the Csillagszálló magazine). The other work is the story of a Jewish girl from Belgrade, Hilda Dajč, who worked as a volunteer nurse in the ghetto during the German occupation. The Nazis murdered her along with most of the Serbian Jews. This comic was published a few years ago by the Serbian Ministry of Education and the Israeli Embassy and made available to Serbian schools as free educational material.
At the opening, we will also screen the animated documentary Kaktus Kid’s Last Adventure. In the movie, the figure of Kaktus Kid by the cartoonist Veljo Kockar, who was executed in World War 2, comes alive and starts to inhabit Zograf’s life.

Aleksandar Zograf (original name Saša Rakezić) is a Serbian comic book artist, his most famous works are Life Under Sanctions, Psychonaut, Dream Watcher and Bulletins. Zograf has been active on the international scene since the early 1990s, when his works were selected for American comic anthologies such as Weirdo and Zero Zero, and some of his comics were published by Seattle’s Fantagraphics Books. Zograf’s works have been published in many European magazines, including the French L’Association, the Italian PuntoZero, the German Jochen Enterprises, and the Spanish Under Comics.
